What is Oxjam?

Oxjam began in 2006 with the aim of creating a network of music-loving people across the UK who are all united by a shared goal – to raise money to fight poverty and suffering around the world. 10 years on and still going strong, Oxjam is now the largest grassroots festival in the UK.

This year’s Oxford Takeover is taking place on Saturday 15th October across various venues around Cowley Road. With over 40 diverse local acts already booked to play at East Oxford Community Centre, The Star, Fusion Arts, Ultimate Picture Palace, The Library, James Street Tavern, Truck Store and Joe Perks, it’s looking to be the best year yet!

Along with the main event, this year’s team has curated a two month long art exhibition across various venues in OX4 featuring a vast array of local visual artists with the view to a fundraising auction at the end. Starting from Saturday 6th August up until the auction at the Chester Arms on Sunday 2nd October, all of the art can be viewed by the public at the various venues helping to host the exhibition – The Chester Arms, Truck Store, Quarter Horse, Fusion Arts, Sylvie’s and the Star.
