Reading Room

This contemporary reading room extension to the First Church of Christ Scientist is a steel-framed, glaze structure that makes good use of natural light.  The design used the wall of an adjacent building and incorporated stone floors, timber ceilings and glass elevations.

The project required us to be especially vigilant as access to the courtyard site was restricted and the church remained in use throughout the construction period.

The project received an Oxford Preservation Trust Award for the quality of the work.
