Basil Wyatt & Sons successfully completed a high quality restoration project of a period farmhouse on the Glympton Estate in Woodstock.

The farmhouse was in a poor state of repair and required extensive works including electrical and mechanical services, a replacement oil tank and new chimney flues as well as new windows and internal doors.

The existing ground floor space, which had been affected by dampness and poor insulation, was totally re-organised and refurbished to create a bright and modern kitchen and reception area. The stone fireplace in the main living area was also carefully restored, as was the parquet floor in the dining room, hall and living room.

The exterior of the house also required special attention. In keeping with the period of the house, a French limestone mix was used as a top coat render to the front of the house and the existing Cotswold dry stone wall was extended, so as to link the house to the garage.

The high quality workmanship on the project and use of traditional methods and materials has restored this old English farmhouse back to a warm and inviting home.
